Someone was trying to excuse to me why they hate autumn the other day . I pick up this often in New England which is odd , since fall and bleached leaves , pumpkins , squashes and even Thanksgiving are all icons which surround us here . I pass to be a hopeless romantic , and ca n’t get enough of these seasonal changes , want to immerse myself in every bit of seasonal experience be it gingerbread , Indian Pudding and the autumn reap crops like coloured dried bean , repositing squash and dried corn whiskey varieties .
Because I wanted to originate or ascertain local growers who could grant me to show multiple motley of rare or strange vegetables for my book . , I ’ve been officious pick , digging and photographing the last crop of the season before it gets too dusty -even though there are some crops here that will make it into the wintertime chapter . As anyone who has undergo a kitchen project know , these are painful projects – specially when doing them yourself .
