Last Saturday , MSHS awards were presented at a luncheon and ceremony atBachman’sin Minneapolis . Bobby Jensen ofGrow with KAREwas host for the event , which also included a presentation on creating fall decor .

Garden Club Award — Arlington Garden ClubSince 1930 , the Arlington Garden Club has worked to ornament this city of 2,200 . This spring , nine members worked with the Sibley County ACT on Alzheimer ’s organization to create a butterfly stroke garden for people with memory loss and their caregivers to enjoy . Youth Award — Wadena - Deer Creek School System — In one of the most economically challenged counties in the res publica , the schools are using Garden - in - a - Box kits to learn horticulture , hefty eating and responsibility . The garden , part of an amazing gamy schooltime agriculture program , are part of a summertime gardening curriculum in Wadena .
Community Livability Award — David Smith and Dianne Patras Smith , Williams Park Community Garden , North Branch — Dave and Diane spearhead a projection to create a vivacious community garden in an underused space at Williams Community Park in North Branch . Experienced veg gardeners and Chisago County Master Gardeners , Dianne and Dave seek financial backing , oversaw grammatical construction , tilled the plot of ground and taughtgarden classesat the garden . Together , Dave and Dianne have donate more than 860 volunteer 60 minutes to the project .
