Spiced Pomegranate Wine Recipe
Homebrewing wine ormead ( honey wine)in modest , one gallon raft is one of my favored things to do . It ’s easier than you would think to put together , and is always exciting when it comes sentence to taste it !
This pomegranate vino is such an easy formula , once I had all of my ingredient and equipment quick it only took me about 30 minutes ( or less ) to brew !
Pomegranate Wine Equipment & Ingredients
A little bit of special equipment is needed for brewing and bottle this one gallon batch of wine-coloured :
You will also need to getpomegranate juicethat does not contain any preservatives ( they will hinder fermentation ) andLalvin K1 - V116 wine barm .
Brew the Pomegranate Wine
The first affair you will need to do is sanitise all of your brewing equipment .
Then you will moil the water in a pot with the peppercorns , star anise , cinnamon , cardamum pods , raisins , and orange . Let it simmer for about 20 second , then remove it from the warmth .
Add the sugar to the pot and excite it well until it is completely unthaw .

Use a funnel and a strainer to channel the spiced sugar water system into the gallon drinking glass jug , then lend the pomegranate juice .
If there is blank space leave , top off the jug with unchlorinated ( filter ) water until the liquid ( called “ must ” ) achieve the neck of the jug .
Pitch the Yeast
When the glass is cool enough to palm ( mine was right away ) , pitch the barm . First cap the jugful , or if you do n’t have the ceiling you may use the rubber plug from the air lock with your hand over the little jam .
Shake the jugful vigorously to aerate it , then sprinkle half the yeast packet into the jugful .
Ferment the Pomegranate Wine
Put urine in the air lock to the line , then put the synthetic rubber plug and airlock into the top of the jugful .
tag the jug with the name of the brew and the day of the month and set it away somewhere out of lineal sunlight until it is finished fermenting .
Within a day or two you will start to see bubbles forming in the jug !

you could tell that fermentation is done when the bubbles have stopped and the wine-colored has cleared , usually after about 4 to 6 calendar week .
Racking, Bottling & Aging the Wine
This vino can be racked into a secondary jug for a while to realize it up if you ’d like .
Then it will be time to bottle ! you’re able to see my instruction forbottling one congius of wine-coloured here(or cider or Margaret Mead , the process is the same ) .
Most wine-colored benefit from some ripening as well . I aged this vino for nigh a twelvemonth before tasting it , and it was incredible ! Even just a few month of ripening will greatly meliorate the flavor .

The semblance is gorgeous and the tang is copious and wonderful , but not too heavy . It is a little piece sweet , but not overly so . in spades a novel favourite , specially for the holidays !
For another festive pomegranate cocktail , stress myPomegranate Martini with Rosemary Honey !
Here is what Amber say about this wine-coloured inArtisanal Small - Batch Brewing :

“ This pomegranate wine has a rich , deep flavor . It is redolent or a Beaujolais , with a touch of sweetness that mess about on the tongue . The spices in the recipe do not experience at the head , but contribute to a balanced base for the lemony pomegranate to rest upon . This vino is an excellent companion to warm you on inhuman wintertime day , specially when mulled ! ”
I ’m unquestionably drop dead to try mulling this wine-colored for the holidays , that sounds so festive and delicious !
