Ribes sanguineum var . glutinosum
Last year I travel back to the UK after spending over ten years in Australia , in the sub - tropical climate of Sydney .
So , I ’m currently enjoying my first northerly Hemisphere outpouring in all that time and my first spring ever live on in Scotland .

I ’ve been delighting in the wonderful the salmagundi of cool mood springfloweringplants here and re - let on some plants I had forget about or hard hardly paid attention to before . One such plant is this wonderful currant bush : Ribessanguineumvar . glutinosum .
The specimen pictured is bloom in thefront gardenalong the street from where I live and when I first saw its flowers , appear before the grave palmate leaves , I could n’t pose it . In fact I ’m not sure I ever remember seeing this plant in full flower before – or perhaps not flowering so extravagantly .
Whether last year ’s quick summer or the mild winter just gone are contributing factor to the opulent display , I am not sure . But I think it will find a berth inthe fresh gardenI’ll be creating when we move into our new house in a few hebdomad meter .

As I see it , thisplant is a indigen to California and the US Pacific coast . Pacific Horticualturemagazine tells us more :
