Carrying cloggy garden pots or even houseplants from one locating to another take a draw of exertion . This rugged but attractive cedarwood plant life dolly , design by my ally Ron Sims , makes it easy to move containers of almost any size across a porch , terrace , deck , or other flooring surface . The caster wheels swivel , allowing you to easily alter the centering of movement . This dolly is easy to build , even for those with minimal carpentry skills , and you’re able to make it for a fraction of the cost of commercial pot dollies .

Materials Needed

Tools Needed

Step 1

Cut the slice of 6 - infantry cedar card into six adequate pieces , 12 inch long . Four pieces will make the top of the pot dolly and two will be used to make the bottom . Lay two of the boards down parallel to each other and approximately 12 in apart . Lay two more boards on top of them with the corner overlapping to form a public square . post a spring clinch on each of the four corners to hold the boards in place . Lay the final two boards in between the outer two dining table on one side . Use a tape measure to ensure there ’s an equal distance between each of the boards . The exact amount of quad between each of the control panel will count on how dry the lumber is , the weather conditions , and how the timber was mill .

Step 2

Once the table are equally spaced , use a pencil to mark their edge on the bottom two boards .

Step 3

Remove the out boards , then impound the crossmembers to the halfway boards by drilling buffer holes then driving a pair of exterior screws into each board . Make certain to cautiously line up the boards to the pencil line , which will ensure the boards are square .

Step 4

Place the last two , outmost board in their place , again induce sure the corners run along up square . At each corner , place a castor rack , set in about 1⁄2 in from the out edge . practice a pencil to cross out each of the four holes in the caster wheel ’s Qaeda .

Step 5

Drill pilot holes where each of the four caster wheel screw will go , hold the bottom board carefully in blank space . Make certain you do n’t bore all the fashion down through the bottom table .

Step 6

Put the caster wheel back in place , and attach it with 4 screws driven down into the fender holes . Repeat the process with the other three castor wheels , form certain each street corner stay square as the wheels are installed .

Note : Your pot dolly is now quick to roll ! If you ’ll be handling it quite a morsel , you might require to sand down any rough edge . you may also paint , stain , or varnish the cedar , if you wish.e cedarwood , if you wish well .
