It ’s always a treat to visit John Markowski ’s New Jersey garden , but especially so in fall , when his grass - heavy garden shines the brightest . So I was passing happy to see his name in my inbox the other day . He says,“I garden in Zone 6B in rural New Jersey and because of the poor soil ( Henry Clay and wet due to in high spirits water table and shale ) and deer , I base most of my garden around cosmetic grasses , native perennials , and a few evergreens selectively blot out from the cervid . Fall is an outstanding time in my garden with the almost casual changes in coloring of the sens due to their late season blooms and everchanging foliage colors . I wish to think my garden dies well into winter . ”It does , indeed , John . Everything looks so , so beautiful !
