We made it . All the fashion from the cheery island of Grenada , West Indies , to the heart of Dixie .

Wait ? GRENADA ? Wait ? Dixie ?

Since there ’s no reason to keep my former fix vague now that I ’ve left , yes . We endure on the Spice Isle , a endearing little place at the closing of the Caribbean .

But things got tense after Covid came . And we were no longer welcome . The neighbors would barely talk with us and we could n’t count on out why , though we think it was linked with the racial unrest in the states . I also had the government giving us bother with our visas , and we had more than one incident that made me think it was no longer a good place to ride out . It was obvious thing were n’t working , even though we had met many wonderful people and done our best to fit in .

So we determine to move back to Florida .

But through a complicated chain of events , we ended up in a beautiful home in South Alabama instead of in Florida . I can take the air to the Florida edge from my house , though . It ’s that close . The house we were offer as a rental was too respectable to pass up . It is a beautiful home , completely reforge and sit on 30 rural acres .

It ’s a tenacious way from South Florida but I remember it ’s a much in force place to ride out potential unrest and other issues . The US is struggling right now and I ’d rather be in the country than anywhere else .

After being gone for so long it ’s unknown to be back . It ’s unknown to go shopping and feel everything we need at damage far below what we had been paying . A cannister of Folger ’s coffee on the island was $ 20 – and that was the cheapest mark ! Here I see it two days ago for $ 8 . Gas was over $ 6 a gallon there . It ’s around $ 2 here . And my snag is $ 300 less per calendar month than what I was paying for a place with no yard in the third world .

Plus , everything is so convenient . Stuff just wreak here in the USA . No long lines for stupid things . No wait in line for over an hour to get a confirmation deposited . No waiting two 60 minutes to devote for a railway car enrollment .

And guns ! I have gunman again . I really escape those , specially after two machete murders happened in the same year back on the island – to people I knew personally – and I was sitting in my shack in the jungle wondering if we were gon na be next .

Here we also have infinite for a shoot mountain range in our backyard , as well as a good bit of ground for cervid hunting .

Anyhow , I ’ll talk more about the move in tonight ’s Goodstream . I just get internet today ( which only accept a half - time of day at a Verizon store ) and I ’m back in the bicycle seat . We arrived in Alabama the day before the storm hit so affair have been a little hectic . We still need some seam and I take a desk and a chairperson , but otherwise , it feels like paradise to have good lighting , exploit cyberspace , right cell reportage , hot showers and a decent Dollar Store around the corner .

I grow seeds for my tumble garden this morning and should be tilling up a great big space this week . As an extra fillip , I can get cottonseed meal here for $ 15 a prevue loading . Roll tide !

Thank you all for sticking with me over the last while . It ’s been a sick , crazy ride and I am amazed at what God has done . I can not expect to get back to recording video and stop up ledger . Tonight ’s stream will be my prescribed re - launching .

Catch ya’ll soon – and God bless the USA !

It got so cold…
