Orchids brighten the darkest days
Today Gail Bromer is sharing a method to brighten up the wintertime months .
I started to collectorchids30 years ago and still have several plants from those other years . I am a natural selection - of - the - fittest gatherer and do n’t know most of their gens , but I love to have their color , particularly during winter . Various orchidsbloom throughout the year . Orchids bloom for long periods of time . I have one blooming now that was a natural endowment inJuneand is still going strong .
When we bought our new home seven days ago , we build up in a flora area . I have a 10 - foot window that faces southwest . It may not be a consummate lightheaded spot , but it ’s what I have available . I water once a week and twist the heat down to 65 ° overnight in the winter . In thesummer all the plants go outsideonto a covered deck of cards .

If you ’ll let me , I ’ll share some of my pictures without name them . I urge everyone to bring orchid home and savor their foresightful efflorescence time . These daylight you may purchase an orchid for the same price ascut flowersat the supermarket . Or you’re able to look out your specialty agriculturist and enjoy something a little more strange .
These are blooming today .
This plant is 25 years honest-to-god . I yield it to my male parent - in - law as a gift , and he returned it to me when he did n’t have any luck getting it to rebloom .

This is my 30 - yr - sometime works .
Phalaenopsisare readily available at the supermarket .
I be intimate the shape of these .
